When to seek urgent care
This website is not for emergencies. If a child has difficulty breathing, pauses in breathing, bluish lips, severe throat pain with drooling, high fever with lethargy, or any rapidly worsening condition, seek immediate in-person emergency medical care.
Surgery is sometimes necessary
Non-surgical management is not appropriate for every child. Where surgical care is indicated, that recommendation will be made plainly and referral arranged. This practice does not discourage surgery when it is the right course.
